In the huge Battle of Ontario matchup on Tuesday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs ended up losing 3-0 to their rivals, the Ottawa Senators. Following the loss, coach Craig Berube admitted that the Maple Leafs got dominated by their opponents.

The Maple Leafs, this season, have played some good hockey and were on a three-game winning streak while entering this match. They are also the only side who have defeated the high-flying Winnipeg Jets this season.

As a result of this, expectations were high among the fans for another positive result. However, the Maple Leafs ended up getting dominated at the Scotiabank Arena and found themselves three goals down by the end of the second period. This saw the fans present in the arena rain down boos as the players walked out.

Meanwhile, coach Berube seemed visibly frustrated by the team’s performance in the opening two periods. As per TSN Sports, he was heard yelling, “Let’s f******g go, wake the f*** up” towards the Leafs bench.

After the game, the 58-year-old admitted that they got outskated in this match while pointing out that the Senators wanted the game more than them. He later added that this loss was different than the other losses as they did not have control over the game at all.

We got outskated. They wanted it more than us. That’s the bottom lineIt wasn’t good. The other games we lost, there were different situations. But tonight, we didn’t have control of the game at all.

Craig Berube said in the post-game conference

As a result of this loss, the Leafs are now 9-6-2 for the season. This defeat was also just the second time they got shutout this season.

Paul Bissonnette once again hypes Maple Leafs as “Kings of Ontario” despite 3-0 against Senators

Former NHLer Paul Bissonnette has never been shy of showing his admiration towards the Toronto Maple Leafs. Following the 3-0 loss on Tuesday night, he once again hyped up the Maple Leafs as the “Kings of Ontario” and added that the team was bound to have a stinker without their captain Auston Matthews.

Last week when the Maple Leafs claimed an emphatic 4-0 victory over their division rivals, Boston Bruins, “Biz Nasty” took to his X account and hailed the team for their performance. This time, he urged the fans to “trust the process” while crediting the Senators for their win.

Congrats to the Senators on a well played game against the Leafs. Leafs were 3-0 without Matthews and were bound for a stinker. We’re still the kings of Ontario. Trust the process.

Bissonnette would be hoping for a strong response from his beloved Leafs as they face the red-hot Washington Capitals on Thursday night. After that, they will have another huge Canadian matchup with the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.
