- He attempted to leverage his connection with Donald Trump to avoid arrest, drawing criticism from public figures.
- Woods is reportedly seeking rehabilitation in Switzerland, highlighting his privileged status despite legal troubles.
Tiger Woods is one of the most successful golfers of all-time, if not one of the most prolific athletes to grace the world of sport. He’s also synonymous with being one of the most controversial and scandalous, the latest being a multiple vehicle-rollover collision near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida.
The golfer, who was charged with driving under the influence, immediately sensed that he was done for as soon as cops arrived on the scene. Woods pulled out one of the biggest names on his contact list, calling for the sitting president, Donald Trump. According to the body cam footage released on Thursday, the 50-year-old was heard saying that he was talking with the president.
Woods potentially using Trump as leverage to dodge an arrest has influencers, critics, and social media users coming at him at record speed. Among them was Craig Carton, radio host at WFAN, who mocked Woods for using the president card as well as his decorated history as a golfer to get out of the arrest. He questioned his mindset of thinking to call Trump or flex his career instead of calling a lawyer.
He tried what would have been the greatest flex of all time to get out of a ticket, an arrest, uh, DUI, and anything else you might get pulled over for… And uh it’s just a mindset there when the mindset should be uh-oh get my lawyer on the phone cuz I’m screwed right now and I’m not going to have a driver’s license for the next year… But he ain’t thinking about none of it (drugs in his pocket). He’s thinking about I know the president because I’m b***ing his son’s ex-wife.

Tiger Woods has been linked with Vanessa Trump since 2024 before they went public last year. Though there have been some rumors of the pair splitting up in the aftermath of Woods’ latest scandal, TMZ reported that sources close to the golfer said that it’s far from the truth. She later posted an Instagram story, captioned “love you” on an image of the pair cozied up on a hammock.
Carton’s co-host, Tyrone A. Johnson, also pitched in his thoughts, lauding Woods with the honor of being the most narcissistic a** on the planet for the next year.
Tiger Woods’ private jet lands in Zurich, adding a fresh layer of controversy
The 50-year-old golfer, Tiger Woods’ private jet reportedly landed in the Swiss city of Zurich amid his rehabilitation journey following his latest bout of DUI arrest. The largest city in the country of Switzerland is home to several top-notch rehab centers, including Paracelsus and Kusnacht.

According to TMZ Sports, Woods’ private plane touched down about 10 hours before the outlet reported its arrival shortly after 1 p.m. ET, and the jet is said to be returning to the United States. However, it is not clear if Woods was a passenger in the jet. Nonetheless, the report did highlight the names of the centers. Both Paracelsus and Kusnacht are known to service the 1% and maintain strict privacy protocols.
Woods’ lawyers stated his doctor recommended treatment abroad due to complicated medical needs and privacy issues in the U.S. A judge approved the trip, stressing the need for privacy and proper care. The fact that Woods was able to just call up the president showed how privilege can open up doors, but still reminded fans that even with all his decorations and connections, he’s a citizen when it comes to the law. However, there are some leeways in the system.
Meanwhile, the fact that he was able to quickly have a rehab in a foreign city, one which is equally famous as a tourist destination, cements Woods’ status as an elite athlete.
