Afghanistan vs Namibia player ratings: Afghanistan delivers clinical performance to thump Namibia by 62 runs

Afghanistan were clinical in their approach both with the bat and ball as they played against Namibia in a league match for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Mohammad Nabi’s men delivered a swashbuckling performance to outclass Namibia by 62 runs. This was the second victory for Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup and they have now climbed to second place.

Afghanistan

Hazratullah Zazai (6/10): The opening batter Hazratullah Zazai started off on a good note. However, Zazai failed to play a big knock and ended up with 33 runs off 27 balls.  

Mohammad Shahzad(w) (7/10): The other opening batsman Mohammad Shahzad played a good knock as he hammered 45 runs off 33 deliveries.  

Rashid Khan (9/10): Rashid Khan was as usual brilliant with the ball. The spin mainstay picked up one wicket while conceding just 14 runs in his four overs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (2/10): Rahmanullah Gurbaz flattened against Namibia. The top-order batter scored just four runs and lost his wicket to Loftie Eaton. 

Najibullah Zadran (2/10): The middle-order batter Najibullah Zadran also failed to put up a good show. Zadran could score only seven runs. 

Mohammad Nabi(c) (8.5/10): The skipper Mohammad Nabi looked in fine form as he played a good cameo to take his team to a big total. Nabi scored 32 runs off just 17 balls.  

Hamid Hassan (9.5/10): Hamid Hasan caused carnage on the field. The seamer picked up a three-wicket haul to break the backbone of Scotland’s batting line-up. 

Naveen-ul-Haq (9.5/10): Naveen-ul-Haq was the other Afghan bowler to pick up a three-wicket haul. Naveen gave away 26 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 6.5. 

Namibia 

Craig Williams (1/10): Namibia were denied a good start as the opening batter Craig Williams lost his wicket at a score of 1.  

Zane Green(w) (1/10): Things didn’t go as per the plan for Zane Green as he could score only one run in 7 balls he faced with the willow. 

Gerhard Erasmus(c) (3/10): Gerhard Erasmus also had a torrid outing against Scotland. Gerhard failed to lead from the front as he could add only 12 runs to the scoreboard. 

David Wiese (5/10): David Wiese couldn’t capitalize on the good start. Wiese perished after scoring 26 runs in 30 deliveries. 

Michael van Lingen (3/10): Opening the innings, Michael van Lingen ended up with 11 runs in 8 balls he faced in the middle. 

JJ Smit (8/10): JJ Smit delivered a below-average performance. He was dismissed on a three-ball duck by Hamid Hasan. 

Jan Frylinck (3/10): Jan Frylinck was the other Namibia player who failed to impress. The 27-year-old leaked 34 runs in his three overs. 

Ruben Trumpelmann (7/10): Ruben Trumpelmann continued his fine form as he picked two wickets while bowling at an economy rate of 8.5.
