The 11th match of the 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League was Guyana Amazon Warriors squaring off against Trinbago Knight Riders at Warner Park. Trinbago’s pace all-rounder Akeal Hosein was on a roll on Wednesday. It was Akeal’s spectacular conduct on the field as a fielder that made heads turn in the cricket fraternity.

The game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders was nearing its end as the former needed 34 runs off three overs. The 18th over of the second innings was a crucial one and Trinbago managed to have an upper hand courtesy of Akeal Hosein. The first ball of the 18th over saw Hosein taking a catch at the deep midwicket to dismiss Brandon Kings.

Meanwhile, it was the second catch taken by Hosein on the very next ball that left the cricket fraternity in awe. Ravi Rampaul bowled a full-length delivery to Nicholas Pooran on the second ball of the 18th over. Pooran slapped the ball hard and it was all set to land outside the cover boundary.

However, Hosein pulled off an insane catch to dismiss Pooran while he was playing at 27 off 15. As the ball was going over Hosein, the pacer leaped up and stretched his body to the maximum to catch the ball from his left hand. After taking the ball, Akeal fell back on his right hand just an inch away from the boundary.

The fantastic catch by Akeal was outrageous, to say the least. The video of the same is going viral on Twitter as the fans are falling short of words to praise the Trinbago Knight Riders’ player.

As far as the match is concerned, it ended in a draw as both Trinbago and Guyana scored 138 runs in their 20 overs. Guyana Azamzon Warriors then won the Super Over to collect two crucial points.
