New Zealand Women on the other hand was defeated by Pakistan. It came as a surprise as The White Ferns had a clear upper hand. They set a target of 229 runs as Amy Satterthwaite scored an 80 while Maddy Green notched a fifty for Pakistan to chase. The opposition cleared the target with four wickets in hand and four balls left in the match. The White Ferns would be looking for a rebound and start their campaign at the World Cup with a victory.
