Bangladesh's hilarious review

The first Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand saw the visitors take a bizarre DRS call. The hilarious decision saw them extinguish their last review as fans all around the globe were left stunned. The Bangla Tigers are on the verge of a huge upset at the Bay Oval as the Blackcaps are left struggling.

Winning the toss, Mominul Haque put the Kiwis to bat first. Riding on Devon Conway’s ton and half-centuries from Will Young and Henry Nicholls, the hosts managed to put 328 runs on the board. In reply, four of Bangladesh’s top six batsmen struck half-centuries to secure a valuable 130 run lead.

Having secured a healthy lead, Bangladesh toiled away to defend it as the Kiwis mounted a counterattack. On a frustrating day for the Bangla Tigers on the field, they burned out all of their reviews in vain with the final one being the biggest blunder one might ever witness on a field of cricket.

The final review was taken by the visitors as Taskin Ahmed fired in a yorker. Ross Taylor, who is playing his final Test series, managed to dig the ball out but before it hit the pad. To everyone’s surprise, skipper Mominul Haque went upstairs to challenge the decision as the replay showed that Taylor had middle the ball leaving the visitors red faced.

Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik reacted to a video of the incident as he took a dig at the visiting team. Karthik hailed the review as one for “bat before wicket” while others termed it the worst review in the history of the sport.

Bangladesh are wickedly close to pulling off a shock victory over World Test Champions New Zealand riding on Ebadot Hossain’s four-wicket haul thus far. The visitors have reduced the Kiwis to 147 fo five at stumps on day four and will be looking to skittle them out in the very first session on the final day if they are to give themselves a real chance of winning the Test.
