Over the years, some of the Indian bowlers, both spinners and pacers have displayed some crazy bowling attack to shatter the opponents’ batting line-up. On these days, nothing had gone against these bowlers and whatever they did, awarded them with wickets.
These spells are not only are treat for the eyes, but the watchers of the game sometimes go into a frenzy as they can’t believe what actually is happening in front of them. What they see is wickets fall like a pack of cards and before anyone could predict much, the team batting would get bundled out for small totals.
It was former India bowler Stuart Binny who tops the top 10 list with his astounding figures of 6/4 which he recorded in 2014. Without further ado, check the list here.

5. Ashish Nehra 6/23 vs England 2003
India faced England at Durban in the 2003 ODI World Cup. With the help of Rahul Dravid‘s 62, Sachin Tendulkar‘s 50, and Yuvraj Singh‘s 42, India put on 250/9 in their 50 overs.
England did not have a great start to the run chase but later, their miseries got compounded when Ashish Nehra started sending batters to the dugout. He was responsible for crushing the middle-order of England.
Andrew Flintoff’s 64 went in vain as Nehra’s six-wicket haul helped his team wrap up the match by restricting Nasser Hussain and Co. for 168 runs to win the match by 82 runs. Nehra bowled his 10 overs with two maiden overs, conceding 23 runs at an economy rate of 2.30.
4. Mohammed Siraj 6/23 vs Sri Lanka 2023
India and Sri Lanka locked horns in the 2023 Asia Cup final. Sri Lanka opted to bat first but they had no idea that all the batters would head back to the dugout for a mere 50 runs.
Mohammed Siraj was the reason behind Sri Lanka’s demolition. He picked up six wickets and gave away 23 runs in seven overs at an economy rate of 3.
Siraj also became the first Indian bowler to dismiss four batters in a single over. His bowling helped India chase down the target to win the match without breaking a sweat with 10 wickets to get crowned Asia Cup champions for the eighth time.
3. Jasprit Bumrah 6/19 vs England, 2022
In the first ODI against England in 2022 at The Oval, India were able to bundle out the hosts for just 110 runs, thanks to Jasprit Bumrah’s excellent bowling spell. Right from the beginning of England’s innings, Bumrah did not let them get the upper hand as he wreaked havoc with the new ball in his hand.
Once he demolished the English top-order by dismissing four batters, he bagged his next two wickets by sending the tailenders to packing. In his 7.2 overs, Bumrah picked up six wickets, and conceded 19 runs, with three maiden overs, at an economy rate of 2.59. India later chased the target to win the match by 10 wickets.
2. Anil Kumble 6/12 vs West Indies, 1993
India faced the mighty West Indies in 1993 at Eden Gardens. Mohammad Azharuddin and his men put on a total of 225/7 with the help of Vinod Kambli’s 68, Azharuddin’s 38, and Ajay Jadeja’s 30.
From West Indies, Brian Lara top-scored with his 33 runs from 47 balls. But that is all from the visitors. India’s Anil Kumble ensured India a victory by a huge 102 runs with his stunning bowling. In his 6.1 overs, Kumble bowles two maiden overs, and conceded 12 runs at an economy rate of 1.94, sending six batters to packing. India restricted the Windies to just 128 runs.
1. Stuart Binny 6/4 vs Bangladesh, 2014
India posted 105 runs in 25.3 overs. Taskin Ahmed, with his fifer, was the reason behind such a situation for the Men in Blue. The target seemed a child’s play for the Bangladeshi batters. But when Stuart Binny came to bowl, Bangladesh had no idea how he would make a mockery of them.
Binny, in 4.4 overs, dismissed six batters at an economy rate of just 0.85. He conceded only four runs, including two maiden overs. India would soon skittle out Mushfiqur Rahim and Co. for 58 runs to win the match by 47 runs.
