Over the years, the Indian Premier League has witnessed some spectacular catches that have left fans and commentators in awe. David Miller’s catch to dismiss Ravichandran Ashwin in the game between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals sent the internet into a frenzy.
Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson asked Gujarat Titans to bat first after they lost the toss. The Titans got off to a bad start, falling three wickets down at the score of 53, and it appeared that they would struggle in the middle overs.
However, skipper Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar took command and stitched an 86-run partnership for the fourth wicket to get their team back on track. Hardik Pandya’s 87 off 52 balls helped his team reach 192/4.
The Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start thanks to Jos Buttler, who smashed the Gujarat Titans bowlers all over the place. Yash Dayal ejected Devdutt Padikkal for a 0 score. To everyone’s surprise, Ravichandran Ashwin was sent to bat on the third position.
The plan could have been to counter Rashid Khan, which he did by hitting a six off the bowler. Ashwin began to look at ease at the crease and timed one perfectly against Lockie Ferguson on the first ball of the fifth over, only to find David Miller diving to his left to take an outrageous catch to dismiss Ashwin.
