“It’s not about who’s real to your face” David Warner’s cryptic post leaves the fans bewildered
David Warner
Australia’s opening batsman David Warner forms an integral part of the Indian Premier League. The batter is one of the most successful players in the history of the Indian league and holds the record for being the highest overseas run-getter. Since 2014, the Australian star has scored over 500 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad in every edition of the tournament.
The Southpaw hammered 528 (2014), 562 (2015), 848 (2016), 641 (2017), 692 (2019) and 548 (2020). It was only in 2021 that Warner failed to deliver with the willow. The left-hander didn’t enjoy a good ride in the 14th edition as he failed to put up any decent performances with the willow.
The 34-year-old has played a total of eight matches in IPL 2021 scoring just 195 runs at an average of 24.37 and strike rate of 107. The poor form of the left-hander resulted in him getting sacked as a skipper. Also, he was excluded from playing XI.
Though Warner was given a second chance in the UAE after Jonny Bairstow pulled out, the batter failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Thus, going into the third match, the player was replaced by Jason Roy. In addition, the left-hander wasn’t even spotted in the SRH dugout, and the same raised a lot of questions.
Feud between David Warner and SRH management
Hyderabad management has come under a lot of scrutinies after many reports suggest that Warner wasn’t allowed to even travel with the team to the stadium. In addition, the opening batter confirmed via his official Instagram handle that he won’t be wearing the SRH jersey again in the T20 extravaganza.
On Friday, October 01, David Warner again captured all the limelight as he posted a cryptic tweet on his Instagram. The Australian star wrote on the Instagram Story, “It’s not about who is real to your face, it’s about who stays real behind your back.”
Many cricket fans are relating Warner’s tweet to his feud with the SRH management.
