Another huge blow for CSK! Deepak Chahar ruled out of IPL after a serious back injury

CSK received a huge blow as they lost all of their four matches without their principal bowler, Deepak Chahar, and are placed at the bottom of the points table.
Deepak Chahar played a huge role in Chennai Super Kings’ victory in the IPL last year. During India’s T20 series against West Indies in February, Deepak Chahar was injured with a quadricep tear and walked-off without completing his spell. He has been at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for more than a month now.
CSK were hoping to have him later in April due to his quick recovery. The franchise bought the bowling all-rounder for RS 14 crores but the seriousness of the tear will make him unavailable for the tournament. He picks crucial wickets in the powerplay.
The Super Kings entered the IPL with out Deepak Chahar. But the franchise has always claimed that he would be fit before the second week of April. It still remains unclear if he will return to action this season or not.
BCCI is yet to release an official report on his injuries. But BCCI wouldn’t risk him supper even more injuries that might hamper to play the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia later this year.
Ravindra Jadeja receives CSK’s support
Meanwhile CSK batting coach Michael Hussey said that making Jadeja the captain is a huge change and everyone is supporting him.
“Yeah, it (making Jadeja skipper) is a big change. Obviously, MS Dhoni was the captain for such a long period if time and he has done an amazing job. But the great thing is that he is still here to help Jadeja along the way in his first year as captain.”
“So, I know that Jadeja and MSD are talking almost every day about captaincy, about tactics and how leadership works along with Stephen Fleming the coach, and to try and make the transition as smooth as possible,” Hussey added.
