Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, two new IPL teams, will face off in Match 4 of IPL 2022 on March 28 at Mumbai’s Wankhede cricket stadium. Hardik Pandya will also make his IPL captaincy debut, and his opponent will be his old friend KL Rahul, who captains the Lucknow Super Giants.
This match will feature some exciting players, including GT’s Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill, as well as LSG’s Ravi Bishnoi, Krunal Pandya, and Deepak Hooda. For the first time in IPL history, the Pandya brothers will also face off against each other. As seen in the first game between CSK and KKR, Wankhede’s track is relatively slow. The batters would need to spend some time and get used to the pace before attempting big shots.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and chose to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants in Match No.4 of IPL 2022 on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The veteran Indian paceman destroyed the opposition’s top order in their first game of the season in a superb start to his campaign with the new franchise GT. LSG’s innings began with KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock in the middle. Shami began the game with the new ball. Mohammed Shami took three wickets in the powerplay.
Hardik Pandya’s decision to bowl first paid off handsomely, as Shami began his dominance with the wicket of LSG captain Rahul off the first delivery. In his second over, he returned and clean bowled the other opener, Quinton, with a peach of a delivery. Shami aggravated the situation for the newcomer by delivering yet another magical delivery to clean bowl Manish Pandey.
In the third ball of the fourth over, which was bowled by Varun Aaron. However, Gill easily covered 25 yards running backwards towards the rope before diving to complete the catch of Evin Lewis. Lucknow Super Giants scored 158 for the loss of six wickets after Shami thrashed the opening pair, thanks to half-centuries from Deepak Hooda and young Ayush Badoni.
Krunal Pandya applauds Deepak Hooda’s boundary during the LSG-GT match
It has been claimed that Baroda captain Krunal verbally abused Hooda in front of his teammates, which did not go down well. Hooda later changed his state team, but was forced to reunite with Pandya after the two were purchased by the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. Not only were they forced, but it appears that Pandya is also enjoying his batting during the current match between Lucknow and Gujarat Titans.
While Lucknow had lost early wickets, Hooda and Ayush Badoni helped the side recover, with Hooda in particular playing a few strokes to break the shackles. Krunal, who was sitting in the dugout, was seen applauding one of Hooda’s boundaries in a video.
