Watch: ‘Aava De’ – Gujarat Titans launch their anthem ahead of IPL 2022

The new franchise Gujarat Titans released their anthem “Aava De” on Friday, March 25, just a day before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“Aava De”, which means “Bring it on” is made from the collaboration of two artists. The song is sung by Gujarati folk artist Aditya Gadhvi and composed by Dub Sharma. The anthem starts with the line “Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat” is a famous line by late Shri Kavi Narmad.

The song combines the elements of Gujarati culture and the rich heritage that the state is built on. The state of Gujarat has a rich cricketing legacy too. It has groomed international players like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Parthiv Patel, and Cheteshwar Pujara.
The Titans franchise have roped in Indian team all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan for Rs 15 crores each and young Indian batter Shubman Gill for Rs. 7 crores. The other fellow new entrant Lucknow Super Giants will lock-horns with Gujarat Titans on Monday, March 28. Tomorrow, that is, on Saturday, March 26, Chennai Super Kings will play against Kolkata Knight Riders to start the IPL 2022 campaign.

“When I had to sing this anthem for the Gujarat Titans, I knew I had to convey the energy, character and identity of Gujarat through it,” Aditya Gadhvi
Composer Dub Sharma said: “Through this collaboration, Aditya Gadhvi and I tried to bring in the essence of Gujarat. We also wanted to amplify the Gujarat Titans motto of ‘Aava De’ or ‘Bring it on.’ It is all about the essence of Gujarat brought forward in its own form and tone. This is why we collaborated with Aditya- who brought forward some important bits of Gujarat. I am confident, there are parts of the anthem that will make a mark on people’s minds.”
Singer Aditya Gadhvi said: “When I had to sing this anthem for the Gujarat Titans, I knew I had to convey the energy, character and identity of Gujarat through it. I selected a tune which is identifiable with the state. I am very happy that everyone at the Gujarat Titans has liked it. I am sure when this will be played in the stadium, everyone will sing ‘Hove Hove’ together and that will energize the team Gujarat Titans.”
