“If anyone can beat Virat Kohli, it’s only…,” Harbhajan Singh makes a bold statement
Harbhajan Singh, Virat Kohli and Rahul Tripathi
Harbhajan Singh, while doing commentary in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants on April 4, made a bold statement.
The legendary off-spinner revealed that if anyone can beat Virat Kohli in fitness, it’s Rahul Tripathi. Rahul Tripathi, who is playing alongside the SRH, was with the Kolkata Knight Riders previously and Harbhajan represented the same franchise in 2021. This statement might have said because of Harbhajan Singh’s personal experience with Tripathi.
In Tripathi’s maiden IPL, he represented the Rising Pune Supergiant team (now defunct) in 2017. In 2018 and 2019, he played for the Rajasthan Royals and then in 2020 and in 2021, he represented the KKR. In the latest mega-auction, Tripathi was signed by the Hyderabad franchise with a sum of Rs. 8.50 crore.

Ravindra Jadeja has given headache to MS Dhoni to look after the field setting: Harbhajan Singh
After losing first three games for the first time, CSK didn’t start the IPL very well and further win will be the must ones for them. Ravindra Jadeja’s stint as a captain is attracting detractors because it hasn’t been great so far as he is new to leadership role.
“I feel that MS Dhoni is still captain of the team. When I look at Jadeja, he is fielding outside the ring. By doing that you won’t be able to control too many things but he has given headache to MS Dhoni to look after the field setting and everything,” said Harbhajan Singh on Star Sports.
“He is shedding some of his own weight and putting it on Dhoni’s shoulders that ‘look after the field setting,” the 41-year-old added.
The ex-CSK player considered that it’s a good move by CSK to invest on Jadeja when Dhoni is serving behind the stumps. He also believes that Jadeja will gradually evolve as a skipper.
“But I think overall Jadeja is a very confident guy when it comes to batting and bowling and his skillsets are unbelievable. To get the best out of the team when it is not performing is rare, and he needs to stand up and talk about a few things.”
