Delhi Capitals are having a bad day against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Ground. The two teams are up against each other in an important semi-final match. Capitals entered the contest after losing the first semi-final against Chennai Super Kings while the Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last encounter.

Playing the second semi-final match, DC batters looked out of touch. The team could manage to give a target of just 135 runs to the Kolkata Knight Riders in 20 overs. Former South Africa cricketer Herschelle Gibbs also believes the same as he took to his social media to share his views.

Reacting to a post by one of the sports portals, Gibbs wrote, “Too little I reckon” in reference to the runs made by Delhi Capitals. However, the comment by the veteran didn’t go well with a netizen and he tried to troll the Proteas star by saying, “kya haal h sharabi.” The 47-year-old acknowledged the comment and gave a fitting reply by posting a middle-finger emoji.

Delhi Capitals deliver a poor performance with the willow

DC are deemed as one of the favorites for lifting the cup this year. Thus, the fans were hoping for a cracker of performance from the Delhi batters when Eoin Morgan invited them to bat first. However, the players failed to live up to their reputation as they delivered an underwhelming performance in the first innings.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals ended up with just 135 runs on the scoreboard in their 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan showed some character in the middle by slamming 36 runs. However, the opening batsman failed to stay till the end to take the team to an above-par score. It was a combined effort by the Knight Riders bowlers as they picked timely wickets and didn’t give any time to the opposition batters to settle in the middle.

Varun Chakravarthy ended as the highest wicket-taker for KKR with two wickets to his name. Shivam Mavi and Lockie Ferguson also had won each to their credit.
