IND vs SA: “Cheteshwar Pujara will be rested soon if his flop show continues” – Former BCCI selector

The three-match Test series between India and South Africa is currently underway where the Virat Kohli-led side clinched the maiden game by 113 runs. However, visitors are currently facing a major issue in the form of batting vows from Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.

The latter looked in great touch in the last game but Pujara failed to leave an impact on the scoreboard. The 33-year-old got out for 0 and 16 respectively in the two innings at the SuperSport Park, Centurion. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and selector Sarandeep Singh has also criticised him and stated that Pujara will have to be rested soon if his poor form with the bat continues.

“Our batting department is not doing well. KL Rahul is the only key factor but we can’t depend on him totally and Virat Kohli but here I want to talk about Pujara that he has to score runs because a centurion like Shreyas Iyer is waiting in the squad because of you as you are a senior player and if your flop show continues then you will have to be rested soon,” said former India cricketer Sarandeep Singh to ANI.

“India will definitely win for the series”

Sarandeep Singh also went on to express his confidence in the result coming in favour of the Asian Giants. The 42-year-old leapt massive praises for the Indian speedsters including the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah.

“Our bowling department is doing so well and look at Siraj if we are playing him ahead of Ishant in the team then that shows how good he is playing and how well he did for the team. Talking about Bumrah he is a masterpiece for us and the way he plays is awesome. So, definitely, India will win for the series,” he added.
