West Indies didn’t stand a chance against the Australians in their previous warmup match as they trashed the Caribbeans without any hesitation. Australia set a target of 259 runs aided by half centuries of Tahlia McGrath and Ellyse Perry. In the chasing innings, West Indies lost a couple of wickets early in the chase and never got a partnership that kept the ship sailing. Even though the captain Stefanie Taylor put up a stand there wasn’t any support on the other end and the team plummeted to 169/9 at the end of the innings

India Women on the other hand had an exciting match which stretched until the last ball. With the help of a century by Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indians put up a target of 245 runs for the South Africans to chase. In the chase, South Africa got the help of power-hitting eighties from Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus but was struck in and out by the Indians thus avoiding a match-winning partnership. The Indians would look for a victory and keep the momentum going on.
