India celebrates a wicket at Lords

After rain snatched away a win from India in the first Test, the visitors have taken the lead in the five-match series with a scintillating win in the Lords Test. It was a cliffhanger at the Home of Cricket as India snatched a win from England’s win riding on the back of some stunning performances from the Indian quicks.

First, it was the pair of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah who put up a gutsy 89 run stand on the fifth day. With the ball in hand, Mohammed Siraj along with Bumrah ran through the England lineup to secure a scintillating win for their side. The final day of the second Test as the Indian bowlers rise to the occasion both with the bat and ball to see their side a stunning victory.

Siraj, who starred with the ball in both innings of the Test, was one to seal India’s victory. The young gun produced a beauty to dismiss a well set Jos Buttler before he castled James Anderson to seal the fate of the Test. India needed two wickets with nine over in hand and it took only six balls for Siraj to finish off the Indian tail.

England got off on the wrong foot from the very first over of the chase and failed to make up for the early blows. As the hosts’ inconsistent top order gave away, the Indian bowlers rushed in to ship away at the lineup. Barring Joe Root and Buttler, no other batter was able to trouble the Indian quicks who were on a rampage.
