India vs New Zealand player ratings: India register 8-wicket defeat against New Zealand to put their playoff chances in jeopardy

India have made things difficult for themselves by registering two back-to-back defeats in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. After suffering a loss against Pakistan, India were defeated by New Zealand by eight wickets. It was another poor performance by the Indian batters as Kiwis caused a horrific collapse of the Men in Blue batters.

Rohit Sharma (2/10): Rohit Sharma was a huge disappointment during the clash against New Zealand. The opening batter failed to contribute as he ended up with just 14 runs.
KL Rahul (3/10): KL Rahul got off to a good start but he failed to convert it into a good knock. Rahul was dismissed when he was playing at 18 runs.
Virat Kohli(c) (2/10): Virat Kohli failed to continue his good form in the league. The skipper ended up with just nine runs before getting dismissed by Ish Sodhi.

Ishan Kishan (2/10): Playing his first game, Ishan Kishan looked ordinary on the match field. Kishan could score only 4 runs in 8 balls.
Rishabh Pant(w) (2/10): Just like other Indian batters, Rishabh Pant also succumbed to a poor outing. The wicketkeeper was dismissed by Adam Milne when he was playing at 12 runs.
Hardik Pandya (5/10): Big things were expected from Hardik Pandya but he ended up with just 23 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja (5/10): Ravindra Jadeja looked in decent touch, The all-rounder scored 26 runs in 19 balls and remained not out till the end.

Varun Chakravarthy (5/10): Varun Chakravarthy bowled at a decent economy rate of 5.8. However, the bowler failed to pick any wicket.
Jasprit Bumrah (2/10): Jasprit Bumrah was the only player to pick a wicket against New Zealand. In addition, Bumrah conceded only 19 runs in his four overs.

Martin Guptill (4/10): Martin Guptill didn’t have an ideal outing as he marched back to the pavilion after scoring only 20 runs.
Daryl Mitchell (8/10): The other opener Darl Mitchell was impressive with the willow. Daryl slammed 49 runs in 35 balls including four boundaries and three maximums.
Kane Williamson(c) (7/10): The skipper Kane Williamson looked in good form as he scored not out 33 in 31 balls against India.

Tim Southee (8/10): Tim Southee was decent with the ball. He dismissed one Indian batter while giving the opposition team 26 runs in his four overs.
Ish Sodhi (9.5/10): The spin mainstay Ish Sodhi caused the most damage to India as he picked up two crucial wickets in the form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
