Watch: “Insane” Netizen hail Mohammed Shami as India pick 3 wickets in 3 consecutive balls

India’s pace sensation Mohammed Shami was on a roll during India vs Scotland clash.  The Men in Blue were up against Scotland in a must-win encounter at the Dubai International Stadium. As the skipper, Virat Kohli won his first toss in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Scotland were put to bat first.

Bowling in the first innings, Mohammed Shami caused carnage on the field. The pace sensation flaunted his class and brilliance with the ball as he caused a collapse of Scotland’s batting line-up. India picked up three wickets off three consecutive balls in the 17th over to wrap up Scotland at a paltry score of 85.

The 31-year-old also became the first Indian bowler to pick a hat-trick in the 2021 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The first ball of the 17th over saw Shami bowling a full and straight delivery at a good pace. Calum MacLeod tried to play it across the line and misread the delivery. The same resulted in the ball uprooting the stumps.

In the second ball of the same over, there was a terrible mixup in the middle between Safyaan Sharif and Mark Watt. Due to the miscommunication between the two batters, Sharif fell to a run-out and had to go back on a golden duck. On the very next ball, Mohammed Shami again flaunted his class to pick his third wicket of the evening.

Shami bowled a yorker to new batter Alasdair Evans. The batter was clearly not ready for the toe-crushing yorker and the ball easily dismantled the stumps. Thus, Evans became the second Scotland batter to get dismissed on a golden duck.

Meanwhile, apart from Shami, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah also played crucial roles in stopping Scotland at a poor total of 85 runs. Jadeja picked up a three-wicket haul while Bumrah returned with two wickets.
