Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik indulged in a bizarre incident during the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
The fiasco took place during the 17th over off Varun Chakravarthy in the first innings while taking the ball for the last time against DC in IPL 2021 with Pant and Ravi Ashwin at the crease. Since Delhi were reeling at a score of 98 for six, Pant had the responsibility of changing his gears to take the team to a decent total.
In the same light, the southpaw decided to hit the ball hard, however, things didn’t go as per the plans for the youngster as he mistimed the shot. And the ball was bouncing wickedly close to the stumps while Rishabh tried to swat the ball away to prevent it from dismantling the bails.
During the same process, Pant was about to hit Karthik hard on his head but the duo managed to avoid what could have been a horrible scene in the middle. In the end, the entire episode turned out to be quite hilarious as both Pant and Karthik took it sportingly as they punched the gloves and shared a laugh.
