KL Rahul
Swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul is set to grab a handsome deal at the IPL 2022 mega auction if he’s not picked by any of the two new teams. The Karnataka cricketer is one of the cleanest hitters in white-ball formats and his glovework has also exponentially improved in the last few years.
Ishan Kishan
Youngster Ishan Kishan has stormed into international cricket based on some stellar performances in the IPL as well as domestic cricket. The 23-year-old was on the verge of being retained by Mumbai Indians (MI) but Suryakumar Yadav pipped him at the last moment. He will now be amongst the top wicket-keeping candidate present at the auction table.
Quinton de Kock
Another wicket-keeper from the MI Paltan who can grab big bucks ahead of IPL 2022, Quinton de Kock will surely arise the interest of a lot of franchise owners. The southpaw is one of the most consistent opening batters apart from being extremely safe behind the stumps which will work in his favour at the mega auction.
Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow was surprisingly missing from retained players’ list of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The Englishman has amassed a lot of runs for the ‘Orange Army’ since his debut in 2019. A lot of franchises will be in a dire need of adding a quality wicket-keeper to their side and Bairstow can be the go-to man.
Matthew Wade
Australia’s Matthew Wade is a surprise entrant in this list of top wicket-keepers who might grab big bucks at the mega auction. The Tasmanian hasn’t participated in the Indian cash-rich league for the past ten years (last played for Delhi in 2011). However, his recent performances in the shorter format will definitely put him under the radar of many teams.
