The official list of the retained players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is finally out for all eight teams. Some players have grabbed massive deals while a few big names went missing as they were released by their respective franchises ahead of the forthcoming season.
Notably, the team’s salary purse was raised to INR 90 crores for IPL 2022 by the organisers of the tournament. The sides which have retained as many as four players will spend INR 42 crores while the ones with three players will lose INR 33 crores.
Out of the eight existing teams, four teams (CSK, DC, KKR, MI) retained four players. On the other hand, three teams (RR, RCB, SRH) retained three players and only one team (PBKS) retained two players. First of all, let’s look at the complete list of retentions for IPL 2022:
