It is being reported that before the forthcoming edition of IPL, all ten teams are required to reach Mumbai by March 8, are expected to start their training by March 14-15 onwards after a quarantine of 3-5 days.
The Maharashtra government held a meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House in Malabar Hill with BCCI’s Acting CEO Hemang Amin to discuss the processes arrangements prior to IPL. Aditya Thackeray and Eknath Shinde attended the meeting alongside key members of the Mumbai Cricket Association and Amin.
“IPL coming to Maharashtra ensures that the games aren’t played overseas. This is huge boost for the country, as well as Maharashtra in terms of economy, morale and for the passion of cricket fans.” Thackeray wrote on Twitter.
“The participants who will be part of the bubble will undergo strict quarantine for 3-5 days before entering their respective bubbles. All participants will undergo pre-travel RT-PCR testing 48 hours before their scheduled travel from their home destination to Mumbai. While in quarantine, they will undergo in-room RT-PCR testing three times, first on day 1, second on day 3 and the final one on day 5. In case of three days quarantine, they will get tested every day. If all three test results are negative, they will be permitted to exit quarantine and commence team activities.” Said a source.
