In a shock twist at the Chennai Super Kings camp, Ambati Rayudu posted a tweet stating that this would be his last season in the IPL. However, just minutes later, the player deleted that tweet which was followed by a statement released by CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan that said that Rayudu will not be retiring.

The statement by Kasi further mentioned that Ambati Rayudu was under pressure due to bad performances and it was just a psychological issue. The player will remain with Chennai Super Kings moving forward next year. The bizarre events have left Cricket fans surprised with what could follow next.

“Mistakenly put out that tweet” – CSK CEO on Ambati Rayudu retiring from IPL

Ambati Rayudu’s tweet read, ‘I am happy to announce that this will be my last ipl. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and Csk for the wonderful journey.’ To the contrary, minutes later, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan’s statement to NDTV read, “He was a bit disappointed that he was not doing well. So, he mistakenly put out that tweet. I have explained things to him. He is not retiring, He will be with us.”

Fans were quick to start putting up appreciation posts about the player on twitter calling him an IPL legend. Only for the player to delete his tweet on retirement a few minutes later.

Ambati Rayudu in his IPL career has scored 4187 runs in 187 matches, playing for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Averaging a little over 29 and having strike rate of 127.28. While his current season had been sub par for a player of his quality, Rayudu has been one of the most reliable batsman for Chennai and Mumbai over the years.
