Possible Scenarios for KKR to still make it into the play-offs of IPL 2022
KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders’ 54 run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad certainly increased their chances of qualifying for this year’s IPL Play-offs. However, with Knight Riders being able to manage only 14 points at the max if they win their last game, their situation still hangs by the thread. KKR’s chances of qualifying have still increased to 19% while SRH’s chances have dropped to just 13%. KKR now sit 6th on the points table.
Andre Russel was an undoubted Man of the Match for KKR last night. The 34 year old performed with the bat and ball to ensure victory for KKR and keep them alive in the race for top 4. However, even now, KKR are not guaranteed a place in the top 4 by even if they win their last game against Lucknow Super Giants.

How can KKR still qualify for play-offs ?
KKR’s 45 run win against SRH did a lot of good for their NRR. Another big margin victory against Lucknow would help them establish a strong NRR so that they can go through incase of a 14 point tie. However, before that they need other teams to lose certain game to ensure they are still in the race for qualification.
The biggest hurdle for KKR right how is Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. With both teams at 14 and have games in hand, a win for them means Kolkata cannot go above them on the points table. KKR need both the Royals to lose their remaining games which could mean that KKR could even finish 3rd with a positive net Run Rate.
Kolkata’s next competition is Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. Both teams have 2 games in hand which means they can go upto 16 points. However, with the two Northern teams facing each other next, one of them is bound to lose. Best case scenario for Kolkata is that Punjab Beat Delhi but lose to to SRH and Delhi lose their last game against Mumbai Indians.
If the above scenario does happen, then the teams with the best Net Run Rate will go through to the eliminators of IPL 2022. However, in case RR and RCB both win their remaining games, KKR will be officially out of the IPL tournament.
