WATCH: Ish Sodhi gets a nasty blow on his head after a hit by David Wiese

New Zealand are up against Namibia in their fourth match of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Ground. New Zealand are heading towards an easy victory in the match to make their qualification chances for the next stage of the T20 event stronger. 

Meanwhile, the game witnessed a heart-wrenching moment as the Blackcaps spinner Ish Sodhi just managed to save himself from a nasty blow. The first ball of the 12 over saw Sodhi getting hit on his head with the ball. The on-striker batter David Wiese came down the track to smash a delivery by Sodhi.

The spinner came in between the trajectory of the ball and thus got hit straight on his head. All the players including Wiese quickly rushed to check on the spinner as it seemed a harsh blow. The physio also came in the middle to have a look at Ish Sodhi for any sort of injury. However, the bowler looked fine and continued with his bowling.

The spinner Ish Sodhi was decent with the ball during New Zealand vs Scotland clash. He proved to be a little expensive with the ball as in his two overs he gave away 22 runs in his three overs. However, he redeemed himself by picking one wicket in the form of Gerhard Erasmus. 

Batting first in the match, New Zealand produced a brilliant batting effort. The team posted a massive total of 163 runs on the scoreboard. It was an all-round effort as Glenn Phillips emerged as the highest run-getter with 39 runs.
