Joe Root and the England cricket team are currently facing off against New Zealand in a Test series. However, during this Test series, numerous ugly truths have been revealed regarding English players.
It all started with racist and sexist tweets Ollie Robinson made a few years ago. Since those tweets caught the light, many similar cases have risen.
Keeping that in mind, the England Cricket Board (ECB) needs to make some tough calls in the coming weeks. Apart from the board, Test captain Joe Root is also being interviewed rigorously in recent days.

Ahead of the second Test match against New Zealand, Root spoke about the current situation of the team in the pre-game conference. Root said:
“We want to move forward in a really positive way. We’ve had to face up to some ugly truths this past week or so and there will be challenges moving forward. But the group of players we have now is very much committed to moving the game forward, to making it a better place, making it more inclusive and educating ourselves further.“
“We’re going to have to front up to what has happened, but ultimately we want to move forward in a really positive way, to keep going on this journey we’ve started of trying to better our sport. We will continue to do that because that’s how we all feel,” concluded the English skipper.
Currently, it must be hard for the team to focus on their matchup while being dragged into this mess. But the players need to do their job and make sure they give their 100% on the field.
Moreover, the board must want to make things better quickly as England is all set to face the Indian cricket team soon.
