Australia and England are currently playing the second Ashes Test match at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. The home team is on the verge of registering another win to go 2-0 up in the series against Joe Root’s men.

However, a funny incident involving Root took place on the fourth day of the game during the fourth innings. The 30-year-old was seen moving away the spider cam when he was changing his boxers in the middle after being hit on the abdominal area.

This took place on the first ball of the 41st over on Sunday when speedster Mitchell Starc bowled a short of length delivery that angled in and bounced a tad extra to beat Root’s defence and smash him on the body. Following this, the team’s physio was out and the Englishman took some time before getting back onto his feet.

After gaining a massive lead of 237 runs in the first innings, Steve Smith and Co went against the idea of going for a follow-on. The Aussies further batted and added another 230 runs to post a mammoth target of 468 in front of the ‘Three Lions’. After losing Root in the dying minutes of the penultimate day, Ollie Pope will now join Ben Stokes (3* off 40) in the middle.

Skipper Root’s survival didn’t last long as he was out caught behind in the next over of Starc. The right-hander was battling hard to end the play of Day 4 but eventually got out in the dying minutes as wicket-keeper Alex Carey completed a regulation catch.
