The Indian cricket team opening batter and Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper KL Rahul is all set to be appointed as the captain of the national side for the upcoming Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against New Zealand.
According to a recent report in ANI, most of the senior members are likely to be rested after the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE. Hence, Rahul is the front runner to lead the side against the Blackcaps.
“The seniors would need a breather and it is no secret that Rahul is an integral part of the team’s T20 structure. He is almost certain to lead,” the source said while speaking to the national news agency.
