The new face of IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants were celebrating like there was no tomorrow after hammering the Delhi Capitals on Thursday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The source of inspiration for this song was a renowned music number Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.
The video featured Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock and other players and staff members singing and shaking their legs in the dressing room. LSG’s social media handle shared the jovial mood in the room to their fans.
With this win they have secured the second position on the points table with six points. The new entrant only faced a defeat in their opening game against the Gujarat Titans but they quickly recovered from the loss with a hat-trick of wins.
KL Rahul praised LSG’s bowlers for this win
“I think we were brilliant (with the ball). In the powerplay, we obviously need to go back and work on. But that’s how powerplays go sometimes. We assessed things well after that bowled better. Obviously, would have loved the bowlers to assess things a bit earlier, but it was nice to see them discuss the lines, lengths and pace to bowl after the powerplay,” said KL Rahul praised the bowlers at the post-match presentation.
Chasing a modest 150 run target, LSG’s openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock didn’t fail to give a good start as they stood together for a 70-run partnership. But after some quick wickets, Badoni appeared and by whacking a four and a six off Shardul Thakur, helped Lucknow steal the match.
LSG won the toss and opted to ball first. DC were able to add a modest 149 as the target. Lucknow’s openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock did their part and stood for a 70-run partnership. With the cameo appearance of Ayush Badoni’s quick hits, LSG were able to clench their win. They will face Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
