Mohammed Siraj, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowler dazzled the fans by smashing two boundaries in the final over against Chennai Super Kings at the DY Patil Stadium on April 12.

Even though RCB couldn’t win the match, but Mohammed Siraj’s helicopter shot has entertained the fans. MS Dhoni, who invented this shot was standing right behind the stumps for wicket-keeping. In the last ball of Dwayne Bravo, he delivered a full-length ball and Mohammed Siraj smashed with his own version of helicopter shot for a four.

With the help of Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 95 and Robin Uthappa’s 88, CSK went to post 219/4.
RCB were reduced to 50/4 after their top scorer failed to add runs. But Shahbaz Ahmed’s 41 off 27 and debutant Suyash Prabhudessai’s 34 off 18, and in-form Dinesh Karthik’s hasty 34 off 14 gave a tough fight to the Super Kings and helped the Challengers to reach 193 in 20 overs. CSK defeated them by 23 runs to clench their first victory in IPL 2022.

“Big miss for us”- Faf du Plessis on Harshal Patel

RCB captain Faf du Plessis praised the middle-orders and tailenders for their efforts.
“Impressed by the way the guys coming in on a debut at 5 or 6 and playing like that just shows depth in our bowling. Even though we lost we were only 20 runs short on a total we should have been blown out of order and that is impressive.”

RCB couldn’t get the services of Harshal Patel who had left the bio-bubble due to his sister’s demise. RCB players wore black armbands to show solidarity with Patel and his family.

“You see the value (Harshal) offers not just to this but any team. He has got the ability to really stop the game. We missed that tonight. Even towards the end we lacked the variety.”
“Big miss for us, hopefully we will have him back soon again.”
