IPL 2022: When was the last time MS Dhoni scored a half-century for CSK?

‘Form is temporary, but class is permanent,’ MS Dhoni proved once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 tournament opener between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium.
MS Dhoni, the former captain of Chennai Super Kings i.e. CSK, played a strong innings against Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2022. MS Dhoni scored a half-century against KKR in difficult conditions. With this, he became the first player to score fifty in IPL 2022. Dhoni hit his 24th half-century in IPL history in just 38 balls in his first match since stepping down as CSK captain. Not only this, it has taken 3 years for MS Dhoni to score a fifty in the IPL, as he last scored more than 50 runs in 2019. This was the former CSK captain’s first 50-plus score in the IPL since the 2019 season.
Dhoni’s most recent IPL half-century came on April 21, 2019 against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The legendary Indian cricketer had scored 84 runs in just 48 balls. However, he ended on the losing side as RCB registered a narrow one-run victory.

Sheldon Jackson, the wicketkeeper for Kolkata Knight Riders, helped dismiss Robin Uthappa in the opening match of IPL 2022 after he was stumped off a wide delivery. Uthappa went out to face Varun Chakravarthy’s delivery but failed to connect.
Reacting to the dismissal, Sachin Tendulkar took to his Twitter to praise the brilliant piece of work by Jackson. Calling the work “outstanding”, Tendulkar said that the stumping reminded him of the legendary MS Dhoni.
