Mumbai Indians cricketers gave a sneak peek into their daily routine in a recent video shared by the franchise earlier on Wednesday, March 30.
In the video, team captain Rohit Sharma was in the gym exercising and sweating it out. Pacer Tymal Mills was also seen in the gym. They then celebrated the birthday of teammate Anmolpreet Singh. After that Rohit Sharma and his daughter were seen enjoying themselves.
In the match against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians scored 177 runs but failed to restrict the DC from reaching that target. At one point they reduced DC to 72/5 but it was Lalit Yadav and Shardul Thakur who revived their innings. Axar Patel then replaced Thakur and helped their side clinch the contest.
Mumbai Indian’s head coach Mahela Jayawardene stated that they were disappointed due to their team’s performance in their first match against the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals. He said: “Bowling-wise, we executed well but the consistency was not there. We gave a lot of easy boundaries away. Especially, last-ball boundaries, we gave them in at least nine or ten overs. I think [there are] a lot areas for us to improve, discuss going forwards. Overall, it was a good outing but the entire team is a bit disappointed.”
At the same time, Akash Chopra believes that Ishan Kishan justifies his Rs. 15.25 crores. He said: “This guy is on a mission. He justified his Rs. 15.25 crores price tag in the first match.”
