“My family and I are going to miss you all” – David Warner posts heartfelt message as Sunrisers Hyderabad plays last game in IPL 2021
David Warner
One of the greatest active limited-overs batters in world cricket, David Warner had a horrible time in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The southpaw was not just removed as the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) mid-way during the tournament but was also dropped from the side.
David Warner moved to the Hyderabad-based franchise in IPL 2013 and took the team to great levels under his leadership. He even led the SRH team to its first championship in 2016 with 848 runs (second-highest) in the tournament.
However, in his recent Instagram post, the 34-year-old said goodbye to SRH after being yet again dropped from the playing XI in match 55 against Mumbai Indians (MI).
David Warner wrote:
“Thank You for the memories created. To all the fans, you have been a driving force for our team always to give 100%. I can’t thank you all enough for the support shown. It’s been a great ride. My family and I are going to miss you all!! #respect #cricket #hyderabad One last effort today.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s miserable run in IPL 2021
One of the most consistent sides in the tournament history, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a horrible time in IPL 2021 as they occupy the last spot in the Points Table with just three wins in 13 games.
This also marked the maiden IPL edition when the ‘Orange Army’ didn’t make it to the playoffs. Currently, they are playing their last league game of the season against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
