It is well knows while playing for Chennai Super Kings, fans loved seeing their “Thala” and “Chinna Thala” playing together. Now that Suresh Raina is playing no more for the franchise, their bonds have not weaken. Suresh Raina is very active on social media and he keeps sharing posts about his life with the fans.
Earlier today, when Suresh Raina posted his pictures on Twitter, a journalist fan said, “One of my favourite players”. Suresh Raina replied him with, “Mera bhai @msdhoni bhi tho hain sir” (My brother MS Dhoni is also sir). You can see the post below:
To fans’ surprise, Raina went unsold in the recently-concluded IPL 2022 auction earlier this year in February. This must have perplexed the fans and whenever CSK lost a match, Suresh Raina was remembered. CSK didn’t have a near to great season this year because, the four-time IPL champions, they remained at the bottom of the points-table, just above the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.

Suresh Raina’s IPL records
Suresh Raina was one of the most consistent batsmen in IPL. He has scored more than 400 runs in almost all the seasons. Also, he was the first batsman to reach the 5000 runs milestone in IPL and right now, he stands at the fourth position in the list of highest run-getter in IPL, amassing 5528 runs in 205 matches at an average of 32.51. Over the years, he played an instrumental role in the success of CSK and helped the franchise win four trophies. In the 2022 edition, fans had seen him in the commentary box.
Raina has also scored the most of runs in the history of IPL playoffs, amassing 714 runs, and is followed by MS Dhoni with 522 runs. In eigth appearances in the IPL finals, he tops the list with 249 runs and is followed by Shane Watson who has 236 runs. He also has most number of sixes in the playoffs, smashing 51 sixes and is followed by MS Dhoni’s 28.
