5 Players who can replace Kane Williamson in Gujarat Titans squad
Williamson would have batted at No.3 if he played but the franchise informed that the Kiwi cricketer will no longer be a part of the team for the rest of the IPL.

Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson, who was signed by the Gujarat Titans (GT) during the auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year for INR 2 crore, played his first match for the franchise in the curtain-raiser of the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. Gujarat’s campaign opener was against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday (March 31) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
During CSK’s innings, Ruturaj Gaikwad went for a six but Williamson, at the boundary leaped up in the air and badly fell on the ground. In the process, he hurt his knee. He could be seen flinching with pain before he was taken out off the ground. He did not appear for the rest of the game. In his place came Sai Sudharsan as an Impact Player.
Williamson would have batted at No.3 if he played but the franchise informed that the Kiwi cricketer will no longer be a part of the team for the rest of the IPL. And now they will have to look for an overseas player who can come in his place to bat.

5 Players who can replace Kane Williamson in Gujarat Titans squad
Gujarat Titans will play their next match on Tuesday (April 4) against Delhi Capitals. Ahead of the match, here are 5 players who can replace Kane Williamson in Gujarat Titans squad for IPL 2023.
- Reeza Hendricks

South African batter Reeza Hendricks is enjoying great form in recent times. In the recently-concluded T20I series against West Indies, Hendricks emerged as the leading run-scorer. He collected 172 runs at a monstrous strike rate of 204.76. In 50 T20Is that he played so far, he has amassed 1461 runs, including 12 half-centuries.
- Darryl Mitchell

Mitchell had gone unsold in the IPL 2023 auction. In 153 T20s, he has amassed 3317 runs at a strike rate of 133.48. And in 45 T20Is that he played, the 31-year-old had scored 954 runs.
Mitchell was part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise last year but could do less with the bat in a couple of games. He opened innings for finalist New Zealand in the 2021 T20 World Cup. He can also provide services with the ball.
- Travis Head

Head was part of the Australian team that recently played the ODI series against India. He last played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) back in 2017 but didn’t have a great time with the bat. In 17 T20Is, the 29-year-old has scored 345 runs at a strike rate of 133.20.
- Rassie van der Dussen

He has the ability to play long innings when needed. In 166 matches in the shortest format, the Proteas has batted at a strike rate of 128.92. He was the most notable omission from South Africa’s squad for the T20 World Cup last year because of his finger injury.
- Jason Roy

Jason Roy is a brilliant opener but he unsold in the auction. He pulled out ahead of IPL 2023. In the shortest format, he has a strike rate of 137.61 from the 64 matches in T20Is with 1522 runs.
