Young batting sensation Dewald Brevis broke the internet as he played one kind of a knock against the Knights in the ongoing CSA T20 Challenge on Monday (October 31). Even former South African cricketer AB de Villiers couldn’t control himself, simply praising the young talent.

Opening the innings, Brevis went all guns blazing as he took bowlers to the cleaners. He scored his century in just 35 deliveries but was hungry for more. He continued his batting show as he went on to score 162 off just 57 deliveries with the help of 13 fours and 13 sixes in his knock.

It’s the third highest individual score in T20 cricket history, just 13 runs away from Chris Gayle’s 175. Reacting to the gigantic knock, de Villiers took to Twitter to praise Brevis. He captioned “Dewald Brevis. No need to say more”. What’s better than getting praise from one of the best ever?

Brevis’ heroics, Jiveshan Pillay’s fifty and a quick cameo from Donavon Ferreira helped the Titans post a mammoth total of 271 in 20 overs. In reply, Knights batted well but that wasn’t enough as they lost the contest by 41 runs. Unsurprisingly, Brevis was adjudged the player of the match.

It’s no secret that Brevis is a big admirer of batting great de Villiers. His stance and body language resembles that of the former cricketer.
