Team India and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) were criticized heavily during the 2023 ODI World Cup. Former Pakistani players had come up with bizarre conspiracy theories which implied that India were performing strongly because they were cheating.
India lost to Pat Cummins and Co. by six wickets after failing to defend 241 runs in the final. Rohit Sharma and his men did not lose a single match in the group stage and knockouts and this prompted some pundits and fans to criticize India for the home advantage they have been receiving. Even after the conclusion of the World Cup, one can hear such comments coming from former Pakistani cricketers.
Abdul Razzaq, who was previously slammed for his ‘Aishwarya Rai’ remark, said that India’s loss in the final to Australia is good for cricket. He said the way India were using the conditions and atmosphere to their advantage, he would have felt quite bad had India won the World Cup.
If I am being honest, cricket won. They were using the conditions to their advantage. Had India won the World Cup, it would have been a sad moment for cricket. Cricket made it clear that it helps the team who are brave and mentally strong. If India would have won, I would have felt very bad. The pitches should be fair, the atmosphere should be fair and there should be balance for both teams.Razzaq said on the Pakistani TV show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’.

Abdul Razzaq receives flak for his comments on Aishwarya Rai
Pakistan had a poor campaign in the World Cup. While criticizing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Abdul Razzaq said that if he marries Aishwarya Rai, then that doesn’t mean they will have a good and pious child.
He received criticism for this comment not only from the Indians but from Pakistan fans and former cricketers also. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar slammed him as well as the former Pakistani cricketers who were sitting beside him. Notably, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul were seen laughing.
