Abhishek

Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Sunrisers walked in with their openers Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson. Abhishek Sharma played a knock of 65 runs off 42 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. He proved why he is one of the most promising youngsters in the IPL. He looked impressive especially against GT’s Rashid Khan.

But in the first ball of the 15th over, Alzarri Joseph bowled a full-on off stump. Abhishek Sharma looked to take it and went for a cover drive. But the ball went off the inside edge back and hit the middle stump.

Sunrisers needed a partnership and the duo of Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram provided them that while also keeping the scoreboard moving.

Aiden Markram also played a half-century knock of 56 runs off 40 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. But on the last ball of 17th over, Yash Dayal bowled it on the length and rook all the pace off the ball. Markram ended up skying it around the extra cover region. David Miller ran in from the deep and took a safe catch.

Shashank Singh played an important cameo role where on the last 3 balls of SRH’s innings, he skyed the ball for three sixes. He scored 25 runs off 6 balls with 1 four and the 3 sixes. Only Mohammed Shami had scalped 3 wickets in 4 fours by conceding 39 runs.
