India won the toss and decided to bat first and lost four wickets for 22 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored four, Virat Kohli got out for a golden duck, Shivam Dube scored one, and Sanju Samson shared Kohli’s fate.
Rohit stayed at the crease when wickets crumbled at the other end before he was joined by Rinku Singh to stitch a 200-plus run stand. The 36-year-old Rohit scored an unbeaten 121 runs from 69 balls with 11 boundaries and eight sixes at a strike rate of 175.36.

With this, the Indian skipper became the batter with the most T20I centuries in the history of the format. Before this innings, he used to stand alongside Suryakumar Yadav on the list of most tons in the format.
This was Rohit Sharma’s first T20I series after over a year because he did not feature in any T20I matches in 2023, focusing mostly on Tests and ODIs. In his comeback match in the first T20I, he fell for a duck due to a runout and registered another duck in the second match. And now, the die-hard Rohit fans are on cloud nine after this knock, and they also brutally bashed Hardik Pandya.
