South Africa beat Bangladesh

Rilee Rossouw smashed the fourth fastest ton in this World Cup. He also became the first South African batter to score a century in the T20 World Cups and this was also the first hundred in this year’s mega event.

Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma  won the toss and chose to bat first and this decision worked well for them. Rossouw and  Quinton de Kock stitched a 168-run partnership between them to guide their team’s score to 205/5 in 20 overs. De Kock played a 63-run knock off 38 balls with seven fours and three sixes, while Rossouw’s ton was studded with seven fours and eight powerful maximums.

When Bangladesh batters walked out to bat, both the openers lost their wickets in the third over by Anrich Nortje. Najmul Shanto and Soumya Sarkar departed after scoring nine and 15 runs respectively.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan scored just one run, while Akeal Hossain also could score only a single run. Mehidy Hasan played a 13-ball 11-run knock before Tabraiz Shamsi dismissed him in the 10th over.

Mossadek Hossain departed for a duck by Keshav Maharaj in the 11th over, while Nurul Hasan could score just two runs. Kagiso Rabada dismissed Hasan Mahmud for a duck in the 15 over.

Only Litton Das scored the most runs for his team. He played 31-balls to score 34 runs with a four and a six. In the 14th over, Shamsi delivered a floated full ball on middle. Das’s slog sweep could only find the mid-wicket where Tristan Stubbs grabbed an easy catch.

Among the Proteas bowler, Nortje grabbed four wickets, while Shamsi picked up three wickets. Rabada and Maharaj scalped one wicket each.
