India youngster Sarfaraz Khan made his debut in the third Test and scored his half-centuries in both the innings. But he faltered in the fourth Test, scoring a combined 14 runs.
In the first innings, he took 53 balls to score 14 runs, while in the second innings, he got out for a golden duck. The fourth Test was played at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.
On Day 4 of the match on Monday (February 26), India had to chase 192 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma‘s 81-ball 55 and Shubman Gill‘s 124-ball 52 took India over the line. They won the match by five wickets and the series 3-1.
India also became the first team to clinch a series against England in the Bazball era. The last time they lost a series was against West Indies in the 2021/22 Botham-Richards Trophy. Netizens started praising India for beating Bazball but at the same time, some of them are mocking Sarfaraz for his mediocre innings in the fourth Test.

Though India won the series, the moment Sarfaraz Khan got out for a duck, it angered some netizens. Despite the fact that it was the 26-year-old’s second Test of his career, fans criticized him due to the intense hype around him.

After performing consistently on the domestic circuit, Sarfaraz’s dream of playing for Team India was fulfilled due to the absence of several senior members of the team. He smashed a half-century (62) in his maiden Test but was dismissed after a mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja. Sarfaraz then remained unbeaten for 68* runs in the second innings, guiding India to victory.
The Mumbai batter has played 47 first-class matches and amassed 4056 runs at an average of 68.74. His highest score was an unbeaten 301 runs.
