“Aging like fine wine”- Twitter praises Ravichandran Ashwin’s brilliant cameo as RR beat CSK

With Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring his half-century, Ravichandran Ashwin’s quick cameo helped Rajasthan Royals defeat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets on Friday, May 20 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
CSK had opted to bat first and were quite good until the end of the powerplay. It was with Moeen Ali’s excellent 93 runs off 57 balls that CSK could score just 150 runs. MS Dhoni was the second highest run-scorer for CSK in this match with 26 runs off 28 balls.
RR responded with Jos Buttler failing yet again for just 2 runs. But his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal played a good knock of 59 off 44 balls by smashing 8 fours and a six. But in the 15th over, Prashant Solanki sent back to the dug-out.
Solanki had bowled it around the stump and invited Jaiswal to take on the longer boundary. Jaiswal then went after harder. Jaiswal then ended up mistiming it towards the backward square leg fence. Matheesha Pathirana then took a good catch.
Sanju Samson departed after scoring 15 off 20 balls while Devdutt Padikkal scored 3 runs off 9 balls. Then Ravichandran Ashwin came and showed everyone of batting abilities in T20. He smashed an unbeaten 40 runs in just 23 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes with a brilliant strike rate of 173.91.
Shimron Hetmyer, who appeared after a while in RR camp scored 6 runs off 7 balls while Riyan Parag had played 10 balls to score the same run.

Playoffs scenario after RR beat CSK
Debutant Gujarat Titans became the first team to qualify for the IPL playoffs. 5-time champions Mumbai Indians and 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings have officially beling knocked out of the tournament.
The Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals have jumped to the second position. They have defeated Lucknow Supergiants in their previous match. Now they are tied with LSG on 18 points but due to a better run-rate RR heave jumped to the second place.They will now face Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 on May 24 at the Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
