In defense of their captain, Mumbai Indians released a video calling out all these fans. They claimed that they were not happy with the fans abusing their captain and there was no place for it. The team said they did not tolerate this language and will name the trollers.

Hardik Pandya was recently traded from Gujarat Titans, being the only IPL winning captain to be transferred. A few weeks later he was announced as the new captain for MI. Many reports suggested that Sharma was looking for a trade away due to his removal, but the owners have confirmed that he will be staying.
