In the 17 years since the start of the IPL, only three teams have failed to win it. Amongst those three teams are Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have reached the finals twice but have failed to win even once.

The 2024 IPL looks like RCB could go without the title again, as they have won only one of the four games they have played. On 2nd April, they were handed another loss by Lucknow SuperGiants, who beat them by 28 runs.

Ambati Rayudu, who currently works as an analyst for Star Sports, explained why RCB could never win the IPL. He claimed the big players of the team never play in positions that put them in pressure, usually playing young players there.

No big-name batter is seen playing for RCB when they are under pressure. Such teams never win. This is why they have never won the IPL in many years. All young players keep playing down the order and the big-name players go at the top and leave after eating the cake over the cream. If you see, who were the batters batting under pressure – your young Indian batters and Dinesh Karthik.

Currently, the RCB top five has Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green and Virat Kohli. Only Kohli has scored the most so far for his side, hitting two fifties in four matches.

Ambati Rayudu declares Virat Kohli the greatest Indian batter

Virat Kohli is regarded as one the best batters to play for India. The Indian star has shown consistency throughout his career and has stepped up whenever needed. Currently holding the Orange Cap, he is the only player to score above 200 runs. Seeing his performances. Ambati Rayudu has claimed no batter comes close to Kohli.

Rayudu said Kohli is someone who is quick to change anything if there’s a requirement. He observed that Kohli, unlike any other batters, takes less time to implement the new things. The six-time IPL champion called Kohli a fighter who doesn’t run away from challenges and boldly faces them.

I have never seen him run away if the situation becomes challenging. He is the greatest batter, and no one comes close to him. He is the number one batter across formats, scoring runs for ages. Kohli is at the top for me.

Kohli has hit 203 runs in four innings, with an average of 67.67. He has two fifties, which came against Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
