Indian cricketers Ishan Kishan and Smriti Mandhana recently appeared in the popular quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). The popular show, hosted by Hindi cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan, has been running for over 2 decades.
It has had many stars as guests and this time it were the two Indian cricketers who made an appearance. For ₹2000, they were asked in which film did Hritik Roshan play an Indian Army officer. The options were Lakshya, Jodhaa Akbar, Koi Mil Gaya and Kaabil. Being one of the most influential films of its time, Kishan and Mandhana answered Lakshya.
The three of them discussed the movie’s music, with Mandhana claiming “Kandho Se Milte hai Kandhe” was her favorite. The host said his favorite was the romantic song, “Agar Me Kahu.” Bachchan joked how there was an officer who instructed Roshan’s character, but he couldn’t remember the actor. Kishan further explained the plot, which the host did not like.
You're right. But I'm disappointed. Indirectly, I threw a googly. And you're bowled. Sir, I also played a small role in it.Amitabh Bachchan
After Kishan failed to remember that Bachchan played the officer, the host reminded him, adding he was disappointed. Kishan had no reaction but a small chuckle. Lakshya did not fare well in the box office, but almost 20 years after its release it is regarded as a cult classic.
Ishan Kishan opens up about his friendship with Shubman Gill
Out of all the players in the Indian team, one of the most well known friendships is the one between openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. In the last few months, the two have been spending time with each other and uploading pictures and videos of themselves.
On KBC, Kishan opened up about his friendship with Gill. He said the two started playing with each other during India A, India B and India C and became friends when they started spending time together on away tours.
So, what happened was, whenever we went on tours outside India, we would eat together and explore places together. This deepened our friendship, extending beyond cricket to our off-field connectionKishan said
As of now Kishan has taken a break from cricket. Although he and the BCCI did not explain his absence from the Test series against South Africa, many reports claim he was mentally drained and needed a break. The batter could return during the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
