The Indian cricket fraternity had been waiting for Sarfaraz Khan‘s debut and when the moment arrived, it was emotional for the player, his family, and especially his father. As Sarfaraz received his Test cap from Anil Kumble, his father Naushad Khan couldn’t control his tears.

The hard work of Sarfaraz’s father impressed Anand Mahindra, the chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra. He called Naushad an inspirational father and offered him Thar SUV as a gift.

Sarfaraz Khan’s father says he came to watch son’s debut match because of Suryakumar Yadav

Naushad Khan wouldn’t have come to the stadium if it wasn’t for Suryakumar Yadav. On the sidelines of the third Test match, Naushad revealed he did not want to put Sarfaraz Khan under some kind of pressure, but Suryakumar’s words made him come to watch the cap ceremony.

I do understand your emotions. But trust me, when I made my Test debut and was receiving my Test cap, my father and mother were just behind.

He added

Sarfaraz scored 62 runs from 66 balls with nine fours and a six. A mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja ended his knock.
