Royal Challengers Bangalore is taking on Gujarat Titans in the 67th match of IPL on Thursday, May 19 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This match is a must-win for Faf du Plessis-led RCB.
Gujarat Titans have won the toss and opted to bat first. Josh Hazlewood had dismissed opener Shubman Gill in the 3rd over with Glenn Maxwell taking a stunning catch. But in the 6th over, Matthew Wade was wrongly adjudged LBW.
Maxwell was bowling the 6th over. The second ball of the over was bowled outside the off-stump and Wade tried to play a sweep shot. But he couldn’t connect the bat with the ball and it his front pad which was in line with the off-stump.
The umpire had raised his finger but Wade immediately signaled for DRS. He gestured that the ball hit his bat before hitting his pad. But to everyone’s surprise, Ultra edge didn’t pick up the obvious edge. The on-field umpire eventually gave it an out and Matthew Wade walked out extremely disappointed with the wrong dismissal.
