Sachin Tendulkar’s India Legends thrashed Ian Bell’s England Legends by 40 runs in the rain-hit match of the Road Safety World Series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun on Thursday, September 22.

It was a spectacular view for the fans when they saw Tendulkar turn the clock back and scored a 22-ball 40 runs with three sixes and three fours. The 49-year-old was also adjudged the Player of the Match.

Just when he was about to score his half-century, Chris Schofield dismissed him. Tendulkar gave away his wicket for a simple caught and bowled. After his wicket, India’ score was 67 for the loss of two wickets in 6.2 overs.

Talking about the match, England Legends won the toss and opted to bowl first. India Legends openers Naman Ojha and Tendulkar fired from the very start.

The legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also smacked 31 runs off just 15 balls (with three sixes) while Yusuf Pathan hammered a 11-ball 27 runs (three sixes). Suresh Raina was dismissed for 12. Irfan Pathan (11 not out) and Stuart Binny (18) played the cameo role to pile up a massive 170/5 in 15 overs.

England Legends did start well however wickets kept tumbling. Openers Phil Mustard scored 29 runs off 19 balls, which was also the highest score in England’s innings. Rajesh Pawar’s 3/12 helped India restrict the Englishmen to 130/5 in 15 overs. After this match, India Legends are placed second on the points table. They’re behind Sri Lanka Legends.

Meanwhile, fans were awestruck with the way Tendulkar played as it brought back the memories the fans cherish. He gave a glimpse of his vintage self during that match.
