Arshdeep Singh will not be spared by the angry Twitterati as his dropped catch was considered as the principal reason behind India lost by five wickets against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, September 4 at the Dubai Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
Mohammad Rizwan‘s fiery innings helped Pakistan move fastly towards the target while chasing. But his wicket completely turned the table. He departed after a knock of 71 runs off 51 balls with six fours and two sixes.
But more than his knock, Mohmmad Nawaz‘s walking out to bat was a surprise factor for Indian fielders. When Rohit Sharma‘s men were waiting for the next Pakistani batter, No. 8 batsman Nawaz walked out and played quick shots.
He stormy knock of 42 runs off just 20 balls had six fours and two sixes at an impressive strike rate of 210. His wicket relieved team India and so they thought.
After both Rizwan and Nawaz’s wicket, Khushdil Shah walked out and started playing shots. He scored 14 runs off 11 balls while Asif Ali didn’t leave behind and scored 16 runs off eight balls with two fours and a six.
But it was before Arshdeep Singh’s dropped catch. In the 18th over of Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep dropped an easy catch that made everyone’s heart beat a lot angry passion, not forgetting how India vs Pakistan is considered as a huge deal by the entire cricket fraternity.
But Arshdeep’s last over bowling did able to restrict Pakistan to some extent but when two runs were needed in two balls, the Men in Green completed it by running and won the match by five wickets. While most of the Twitterverse are trolling Arshdeep, some of them have also came up in defense of the young player.
